SPAM posted without approval. Posted last year by Dave Smith in BearHug

Today someone posted a SPAM response to one of the questions on our BearHug site. I logged in and deleted it, but I thought replies should be moderated before showing up on the site.

Dave,

All comments are now moderated, just like an initial question.  We still have a bit of work to do on this feature to make the workflow and experience a bit better, but we'll have that wrapped up within the next week.

In the meantime, please let us know how you like the new feature.

Hi, Dave.  Replies are not moderated, however they are still filtered for spam.  We have noticed an increase in spam getting through our filters and are looking at updating the process to moderate all responses going forward.  We will also be updating the spam filters as well to be more aggressive.

Today I found another SPAM post to one of our questions. Any progress on allowing question answers to be moderated?

We're on track to have all non-admin replies moderated by the end of this month.  We will also be updating our spam filters to assist with this challenge.

Any update on a new version to allow moderation of quesion posts? I am deleting a spam post almost every other day now. Some days more than one.

Thanks for checking in, Dave.  We had to do some maintenance work on the platform to make the next round of updates go even smoother.  I believe the spam updates and filtering is being tested this week and should be live very soon.

Once this has been updated, we will post a status update on our own BearHug site.
